The Role

Barber McLelland is working as a recruitment partner for a regional Independent firm of accountants, who are looking to appoint a part-qualified AAT or ACCA practice accountant for the role of semi-senior.

As a Semi Senior Accountant, you will be exposed to a varied client base, which will include smaller developing businesses through to larger owner-managed companies, providing statutory accounting, bookkeeping and management accounting.

The firm will encourage individuals who are training to gain as much exposure to these businesses as possible. This will include developing skills within a complete general practice environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role of Semi Senior will assist in the following:

• Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparation of management accounts
• Use of the latest online accounting software
• Client bookkeeping
• Preparation of VAT returns and tax computations

Skills and Qualities

To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will be an ambitious part-qualified ACCA or AAT with at least 3 years of experience working within a firm of accountants.

Applications are also encouraged for individuals who have qualified by experience and have decided not to pursue the formal qualification route. Individuals will have developed experience of preparing statutory accounts and tax computation with little supervision and have a good understanding of Sage and Xero.

Remuneration

• £27,000 – £30,000
