Senior Manager – Partner Designate
Barber McLelland is the exclusive recruitment partner for a leading Chartered Accountancy Practice based in North Yorkshire within an easy commute from Harrogate through to Darlington. The firm is looking to employ an ambitious qualified practice accountant either at Partner Designate level or someone who could grow into the position over the next few years.
Duties and Responsibilities
The person would need to have a rural background and ideally would be running a farming/landed estate portfolio.
The client base will be 75% farms and landed estates and therefore this background or experience is key. The successful individual will also ideally have a strong private client tax bias.
In addition, a key part of your role will involve developing and building client relationships and actively becoming a part of the local business community, networking, developing key business relationships and identifying opportunities for further the growth and development of the firm’s client base.
The position will progress to partnership within 12 months, allowing the outgoing partner to ensure a successful and seamless handover. It is therefore key that individuals are able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, be commercially astute and have strong technical accounting knowledge.
Skills and Qualities
To be considered for this unique opportunity, individuals will be qualified ACA or ACCA with a strong background working within a General Practice environment operating at Senior Manager or Partner Designate level.
You will have already developed skills in managing a portfolio of clients with an emphasis on farming and landed estate clients, ideally coupled with private client tax knowledge.
Individuals must be looking for career progression into a partner-level role in the future and be able to demonstrate the skills required to succeed within such a position, this will include identifying new business service offerings, strategic development of the accountancy practice, business development and relationship building skills.
Salary Package
- £70,000 – £90,000 depending on experience
